Is anyone wondering where the first quarter of 2010 went?  I know I certainly am.  I trust everyone has enjoyed a relaxing Easter with friends and family and is experiencing more favorable market conditions than we saw last year.

As always I hope that you find our newsletter insightful and useful.  Within this edition we have a contribution from one of Ryan Gately’s first ever clients ProActive Services.  For a number of years we have been supporting ProActive with their HR needs, and more recently partnering them by supporting their clients with the HR considerations of large IT change management projects.

Over recent months I have also had the pleasure of speaking to a number of syndicates of the CEO Institute.  Of particular interest to many groups was staff retention in the strengthening market.  Interestingly, as the retention debate widened, a number of broader managerial issues consistently appeared.   None was more frequent than ‘How do I manage Gen Y?’  A fascinating yet somewhat baffling concept and I hope my observations and experiences from managing Gen Y are both insightful and useful.
